Works for Me Wednesday

My children love any kind of hot drink when it is cold...hot tea, hot chocolate, cider. But their favorite is Russian Tea. Maybe that is because I told them that Tang (one of the ingredients) is what the astronauts drank in outerspace.

Russian Tea

1 1/3 cups Tang
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup instant tea
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves

Add desired amount of mix to hot water. We find one heaping teaspoon to a coffee mug is a good amount.

With cold weather headed to North Texas we will be drinking this tomorrow. Works for Me!

We have a lovely Russian piano teacher and this would make a wonderful gift for her! Thank you for the recipe!

Oh Julie, I love this stuff. I add a little bit of lemon koolaid stuff to ours as well. I read in a Prevention mag or online that this is really supposed to be good for you during cold and flu season. I know I use it with sore throats and it works. I gave it as gifts to all my girlfriends and neighbors last year. Once they tried it while they were sick, they needed the recipe. I also found another recipe for the same thing, but using raspbery in place of the tang, I think. Haven't made it yet.

We always called it friendship tea because you could give/share it with a friend.

I love that stuff...
